The purpose of this site is to offer a glimpse at my first text book. I started this project last year, after my last position as an associate professor at UT Arlington. I resumed it this year, after sourcing deals in the biotech and pharmaceuticals space at a San Francisco-based venture capital firm. I hope you find the cases helpful.
My Story
I have been fascinated by the intersection of technology and strategic management for many years. My education is relevant to this area of interest - I have advanced degrees in both management (PhD, MBA) and technology (MS Biotechnology, BS Chemical Engineering). My work experience is also relevant. In academia, I have taught over 2,500 MBA and Undergraduate students at four different universities, published original articles in academic journals, and authored original strategy cases. In industry, I have been a venture capitalist in life sciences sector, founded and led an early-stage genetic engineering/bio-based chemicals firm, and served as a corporate strategy consultant for a Fortune 50 firm. Finally, I also held several early career functional positions in logistics, finance, and marketing at the US/Latin America HQ of Exxon Chemicals.
